1. Introduction and acceptance
Welcome to the website of Animal Impact Alliance (AIA). By using this website or taking part in our campaigns, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
Animal Impact Alliance is a registered non-profit company in South Africa (registration number 2026/684267/08). Our application for Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) status is pending.
2. Acceptable use
You may use this website for lawful, personal and non-commercial purposes. You agree not to misuse it, try to gain unauthorised access to it or its systems, introduce malicious code, or use it in any way that could harm AIA’s reputation or our work for animals.
3. Donations
Voluntary gifts. All donations to AIA are voluntary gifts that support our charitable work for animals. If you give to a specific project or appeal, we will use your gift for that purpose. If a project is fully funded, or circumstances mean it can’t go ahead as planned, we will use your donation for similar work where it is most needed.
Secure payments. Card and banking details are handled securely by our third-party payment providers (Paystack, PayFast and, once available, PayPal) and are never stored on AIA’s servers. Donations are in South African rand (ZAR); amounts shown in other currencies are approximate and may vary with your bank’s exchange rate and fees.
Covering fees. You may choose to add a small amount to your donation to cover payment processing fees. This is entirely optional.
Recurring donations. A regular donation continues at the frequency you chose until you cancel it. You can change or cancel it at any time by emailing info@animalimpact.org. Cancellation applies to future payments.
If something goes wrong. If you have made a mistake with your donation, such as entering the wrong amount or being charged twice, please email info@animalimpact.org within 30 days and we will work with you to put it right.
Section 18A tax certificates. Our PBO status is pending, so we are not yet able to issue Section 18A tax certificates. Once our status is approved, certificates will be available to South African donors. For more information, please contact info@animalimpact.org.
Recognition. We will only publish your name, for example as one of our Founding Funders, if you have given us permission. You can ask us to remove it at any time.
4. Petitions and advocacy campaigns
By signing a petition, you give AIA permission to present your name and general location to the relevant authorities, such as government departments or municipalities. AIA may remove signatures that are offensive, duplicated or clearly generated by automated bots.
5. Intellectual property
All content on this website, including text, graphics, logos and photographs of the animals we help, belongs to AIA or its content suppliers. You are welcome to share our content to help spread the word about our work, with credit to Animal Impact Alliance. You may not copy, redistribute or use our content or photographs for your own commercial or fundraising purposes without our prior written permission.
6. Limitation of liability and disclaimers
AIA provides this website on an “as is” basis. We cannot guarantee that it will always be available or free of technical errors.
To the extent permitted by law, AIA is not liable for any direct or indirect loss or damage arising from your use of this website or from relying on information published on it, such as veterinary advice or rescue updates. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other applicable South African law.
7. Links to third-party websites
Our website may link to external donation portals, petition platforms, partner organisations or news outlets. AIA is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those websites.
8. Governing law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
9. Changes to these terms
AIA may update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect as soon as they are posted on this page.
