Where your donation goes
Helping animals takes care, expertise and resources. Your donation helps bring all of this together.
When you give to Animal Impact Alliance, you support hands-on animal welfare and conservation work and help strengthen the organisations that animals depend on.
Here’s how.
Supporting projects and partners
Your donation may help fund:
- An Animal Impact Alliance-led project, such as a sterilisation drive.
- A collaborative project with a partner, such as equipping a veterinary clinic or providing water for wild animals battling drought.
- The time, tools and expertise that help our partner organisations become stronger and more sustainable.
Each appeal explains what we’re raising money for. Donations towards a specific appeal support its stated purpose, including the fundraising, management and delivery work needed to make it happen.
Donations to AIA’s general fund give us the flexibility to direct resources where they’re needed most. This includes building the foundations for our projects and partnerships and helping us respond when animals face immediate crises.
Funding the work that makes it happen
Behind every project is work that helps it succeed: assessing needs, developing partnerships, raising funds, managing donations, coordinating delivery and reporting back to supporters.
We also work alongside partner organisations to strengthen their fundraising and the communications that support it. This may include developing websites, improving social media and donor communications, pursuing grants or building fundraising strategies that help organisations secure more sustainable funding. Where needed, we also provide practical animal welfare and project support.
Doing this responsibly takes skilled people, equipped with reliable systems and sound financial oversight.
For partner fundraising campaigns, AIA retains a management fee to help cover this work. It supports campaign development, donor communications, donation administration, partner due diligence, financial management and project monitoring. AIA-led projects also have planning, coordination and delivery costs, which form part of their budgets.
These costs make it possible to raise funds, put them to work responsibly and track what they achieve. They also sustain our ability to keep helping animals beyond a single campaign.
Being clear about how funds are used
You deserve to understand what your generosity makes possible — including the costs involved in making it happen. We explain our approach here because we believe those costs should be easy to understand.
We are committed to being open about how much we raise, how funds are allocated, what goes to partners and projects, and what supports AIA’s fundraising and operations.
We also share progress and outcomes, including significant changes or challenges that affect the work you’re supporting.
If an appeal exceeds its target, falls short or cannot proceed as planned, we will communicate how funds will be handled in accordance with our donation terms and any commitments made to donors.
Taking responsibility for every donation
Every donation entrusted to Animal Impact Alliance (AIA) comes with a responsibility to use it carefully.
We assess prospective partners, agree how funding will be used, keep financial records and monitor the work we support. We work with our partners to account for the funds received and understand what they have helped achieve.
As AIA grows, we will publish financial information and updates that help you follow both our progress and our use of the resources you so generously provide.
Questions are welcome
Whether you’re considering your first donation or have supported us from the beginning, you’re welcome to ask how our funding works.
We want you to feel informed about your donation and connected to the work you help make possible.
